PRESS: Beeline, MegaFon, Tele2 to hike archive tariffs soon

MOSCOW, Jan 19 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operators VimpelCom, working as Beeline; MegaFon; and T2 RTK Holding, working as Tele2 will hike archive tariffs soon, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday citing sources.

“VimpelCom will raise the prices of archive tariff plans by 10% soon … MegaFon plans the increase from February, Tele2 will follow. At the beginning of January, MTS already informed its subscribers about a tariff rise of 60 rubles if the number of services is kept,” the daily reported.

VimpelCom confirmed that it is indeed considering revising the prices of some archive tariff plans. The subscribers will be informed in advance and have an opportunity to choose additional bonuses or change a tariff plan.

The daily reported that MTS clients were also offered a choice of tariffs. The company explained the increase in prices by high cost of network maintenance and construction together with the regulator’s requirements, including the data retention law.
